I came across this little book recently – the way of F**k it.
A great little guide for those who have tried chanting, meditating, yoga, affirmations and all those other wonderful self help methods.
One of my favourite quotes is:

F**k it. We’re going to teach you the best thing we have learnt from 30 years of meditation, 25 years of tai chi and qugong, 10 (long) years of yoga, 1000′s of books and the bloody University of Life: You don’t have to do anything to be okay.

And another goodie:

Say F**k it to lost dreams,
And find the dream in eveything instead.

So say F**k it today dreamers and do something you wouldn’t normally do.

I woke up this morning to find my husband downstairs on the couch and in his place was the dog with her head on his pillow – sleeping like a human. Another hot and humid Sydney night had turned everyone and everything upside down. My oldest son came into my room and chucked the cat on my bed – “its too hot mum – he’s making me too hot”. So the cat jumped on the bed by my feet like a hot water bottle. Then my youngest son came in and jumped on the bed beside the dog – four in the bed and the temperature was rising…..and then it started to rain! Sweet relief.
But the sleepless nights had taken their toll and wacky wednesday continued until I found myself yelling to get everyone ready for school and the day. This commuting across town to the youngest son’s school is not proving easy…
And so I felt myself begin the mental downward spiral. Negative thoughts seem to grab hold more easily than positive ones. Why is that?
I walked my oldest son to school and on the way home with latte in hand gave myself a good talking to….gratitude and optimism…they are the key.
What am I grateful for?
I am grateful for my family even though they drive me crazy in the morning. As soon as they are gone I miss them.
I am grateful for my health
I am grateful for my friends
I am grateful to Mother Nature for her food, her sunshine, her rain and her beauty
I am grateful to my parents for being together long enough to have me. Though I may see them rarely I enjoy being with them when I do.
I am grateful for my wonderful husband who loves me and makes me laugh.
I am grateful to you dear dreamers for listening and sharing….may your day be filled with wonderful moments today dreamers. And lots to be thankful for.

Started me singing “Misty Morning” by Bob Marley.

Misty mornin’, don’t see no sun;
I know you’re out there somewhere having fun.
There is one mystery – yea-ea-eah – I just can’t express:
To give your more, to receive your less.
One of my good friend said, in a reggae riddim,
“Don’t jump in the water, if you can’t swim.”
The power of philosophy – yea-ea-eah – floats through my head
Light like a feather, heavy as lead;
Light like a feather, heavy as lead, yeah.

Ok so he may have been smokin’ the herb at the time but there is truth in those lyrics.

I feel much lighter today. A full day of writing yesterday – a third of the way through a screenplay I have been working on for some time. Now the challenge of resuming good writing habits back at home. I could have the first draft finished in six weeks…
I set myself the challenge….and this blog can help keep me accountable.
Make the time to follow your dreams – even it if it outside your comfort zone. It is so easy to get comfortable in this world of consumerism.

The sun is shining here now – having fun.
Make your philosophy for today light as a feather.

As mentioned i am on a writing retreat with a girlfriend. Two days in the country. We arrived last night as the sun set through the trees.
We spent the night talking and brainstorming then a restless sleep in an unfamiliar bed.
I woke up this morning to the kookaburras laughing at the sun and the usual knot of anxiety in my stomach.
What gives me the right to leave my comfort zone, my family when they are in the middle of adjusting to new schools, routines and dealing with house inspections? Why am I not doing my work instead of sitting here in the country attempting to write another project?
I step outside into the sun and take a few moments to notice the smell of the country air, the sounds of the insects. I meditate on this for a few minutes and tell myself to relax. It is only two days. Enjoy them.Let yourself unwind and enter the world of the imaginary. Before you know it you will be back with your family – in the noisy bustling city.
Step out of your comfort zone occasionally dreamers – appreciate yourself, what you have and what you dream about.

Hi Dreamers

Well it has been awhile between dreams. A lot has happened since last we met. My oldest son has started high school, we moved suburbs (hello inner west) which meant youngest son also changed schools. This did not go so well so he is now back at his old school which means quite a drive for me every day.

Now I will spend between 9am and 3pm most days wandering the streets of Bondi working from my van and various cafes with wireless. I have decided to turn this into an opportunity. Rather than sitting at my desk at home and trying to drum up work when I have downtime I am going to use my time to pursue my other interests, swimming, surfing and writing.

So Daily Dreaming is going to be more of a blog but still with the focus on following dreams and allying anxiety. If the idea of following my daily trials and triumphs is not for you please feel free to unsubscribe now and I will not take offence. To those who decide to stick around I hope you enjoy the journey.

This is my office today:

It could be a lot worse.

Music brought to me by Bondi FM 88.0

Let’s see what tomorrow brings…. it will be my husband doing the school run as I head off an adventure with a friend to spend some time on my writing projects.

Enjoy the rest of your day dreamers….and lots of love on this the 14th Feb 2012.

At such time, a mortal knows just enough of what his mind is doing, to form some glimmering conception of its mighty powers, its bounding from earth and spurning time and space, when freed from the restraint of its corporeal associate” Charles Dickens

When the bull is with the Ox
the projects are in limbo
survival mode sux

black dog prowls
snarling
nips at vulnerability

then bites

beyond the dark daze
we look back for clues
grateful for love support
gentle kicks in the arse

then we’re back

happy dapper chappies
giving it all to all
